Amongst the most significant features of the Golden Decade is the number of assessments a young person faces, whether as examinations, applications or competitions.
Distinction Coaching maximises the chances of young people sailing through these assessments. We do this by building them as the ideal candidate for success: Candidacy.
The impossible
Our starting point is to raise a young person’s visibility of what’s possible and encourage them to dream a big dream. We often counsel young people to go away and come back with an even bigger dream! There are many inspiring and powerful moments in our work with families and they often take the chance to tell us about them. The ‘dream a big dream’ conversation is always amongst them.
It's a process
To realise it, we expertly break down the anatomy of assessment and develop a detailed understanding of what is required to succeed. We use this as the basis for devising and implementing a bespoke development plan, which we then oversee.
The process is thrilling and powerful, often propelling young people much further than they had imagined. It’s demanding too – building Candidacy requires a self-determination mindset with a reservoir of resilience and grit. We inspire these with equal measures of visibility, encouragement and challenge.
The possible
The outcome is the best possible candidate for assessment. We have directed young people to distinguished examination success, Oxbridge and Ivy League admission, scholarship success and accessing the most competitive internships and jobs.
