> University applicants
We guide students in making successful applications to leading universities in the United Kingdom and the United States. Although some clients already have a clear idea of the universities and/or courses they are interested in, others have no idea. Through diligent research, university open days and networking with alums, we help our clients gain clear visibility. We take pride in raising our clients’ aspirations and encouraging them to extend themselves – in this context, this can include applying for a competitive course or scholarship.
Our approach to crafting compelling applications is imbedded in Candidacy, one of our core beliefs - after identifying the profile of the ideal candidate for that university, we build our clients’ profiles so that they ‘become’ that person. We prefer to begin this early to show sustained interest in a particular subject/s (particularly for UK applications) or passion for an activity (particularly for US applications).
Where required, we offer guidance with:
Testing – academic skills training, identifying resources to facilitate self-learning, breaking down technique, bespoke revision plans (including content and timeline)
Interview – developing a confident repertoire and communication skills, work on personal brand, mock interviews
For UK applications, we start our work on the UCAS Personal Statement by helping students to explore their interests in a focussed way. This is done through a range of activities, all tailored to the student – it includes: reading both contemporary and pioneering work, conducting research, publishing short articles and attending courses. After constructing a solid foundation of knowledge, we provide expert guidance through the writing process, based on our experience of what admissions tutors are looking for. We specialise in supporting successful Oxbridge applications. Beyond the services stated above, we extend our preparation to include deep analytical discussion to make clients feel comfortable talking about the subject(s) they are applying for.
US applications have an entirely different structure and requirements - we recognise that these will be unfamiliar to most of our clients. Guided by our experience in making successful Ivy League and merit scholarship applications, we provided end-to-end support:
Research – making sure the US is right for you, finding colleges which fit
The decentralised process – we help our clients to decipher the complex admissions processes for each college they wish to apply to
Common Application – helping students to capture their profiles
Essay drafting – as part of the Forster Writing Programme, we help students to craft compelling applications which present them in the best light
